I’ve always loved Globe-trotters luggage trunks and i dream of the day when I could afford them comfortably. Not because it is a major brand label. It’s just the good old traditional trunk look which I really dig.
So what they did recently was to ask illustrator Hector Lloyd to draw a series of beautifully playful illustrations exclusively, documenting the heritage and lifestyle of the gorgeous suitcases.
I’m always half hearted about travelling: One side of me adores the charm of “le voyage” where it is taken seriously and people dress up and prepare for a long distance trip. Another part of me just wants to be plain comfortable on a draggy long-haul flight and be in the most comfortable pyjamas-looking outfit I can look decent in.
Maybe when I eventually fly business class ( First Class is too much of a extravagance, no? ) for good, “le voyage” itself will be an event.
